The e-balcão is an electronic service available on the
Portal das Finanças. It allows you to submit questions and resolve issues with the Tax and Customs Authority (Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira - AT) without visiting a physical office.
How to submit a question
If you have an account on Portal das Finanças
- Log in to Portal das Finanças (Iniciar Sessão), using the credentials (NIF and password or Digital Mobile Key – CMD)
- Navigate to Todos os Serviços > Contactos > Atendimento e-balcão
- Select Registar nova questão
- Complete the form by selecting Imposto ou Área (Tax or area), Tipo de Questão (Question type) and Questão (Question)
- Fill the form and attach the required documents.
After submission, you will receive a confirmation that your question has been registered.
Tracking and managing your requests
Once submitted, your query is directed to the appropriate department. You can manage your interactions in the
Registered Interactions section.
You can:
- Check status updates: You will receive an email notification when your request is resolved, closed, or if more information is needed.
- Reopen: You may reopen completed requests (if applicable)
- Cancel: You may cancel pending requests that are no longer needed.
If you do not have an account on Portal das Finanças
You can still submit a question by following these steps:
- Access the
Portal das Finanças
- Navigate to
Todos os Serviços >
Contactos >
Informações a Não Residentes e Entidades Públicas
- Complete the form by selecting the Tax or area, Question type, and Question, and filling in the Subject and Message fields.
- Select Continuar.
This will open an email addressed to the appropriate department, which you must send to submit your request.
