In-person attendance by appointment

Citizens, businesses, and economic operators can book an in-person appointment at Tax Offices and Customs Offices using the “Atendimento por Marcação” service.

Appointments are booked for one specific subject only. If you have multiple issues, you must book a separate appointment for each.

How to schedule an appointment

You can book your appointment through two channels:

  • Online:
    1. Access the Portal das Finanças​
    2. Navigate to Contactos > Atendimento por Marcação, log in using the credentials (NIF and password or Digital Mobile Key – CMD)
    3. Select Para outros assuntos
    4. Select Marcar Atendimento
    5. Complete the form by selecting the Assunto (Subject), Subassunto (Subcategory), and filling in the Observações (Comment​s) field
    6. Select the office location, then pick a date and time from the available slots. Confirm your appointment

      7. You will receive a confirmation showing the date, time, and place of your appointment.


  • By phone: Call (+351) 217 206 707 (CAT – Centro de Atendimento Telefónico), on working days from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

NIF or address changes (w​ithout a Citizen Card)

If you are requesting a NIF or changing your address and do not have a Citizen Card, follow these specific steps on the Portal:

  1. Navigate to Contactos > Atendimento por Marcação
  2. Select Para pedido de NIF ou alteração de morada para pessoas sem cartão de cidadão
  3. Choose:
    • Assunto: Identificação
    • Subassunto: Pedido de NIF or Alteração de morada-cidadão da UE e Espaço Económico Europeu or Alteração de morada-cidadão País Terceiro
    • Observações: Provide your identification document number
  4. Select the office location, then pick a date and time from the available slots. Confirm your appointment.​
    You will receive a confirmation showing the date, time, and place of your appointment.

Cancel or reschedule an appointment

  • NIF request or address change without a Citizen Card

    • To cancel or reschedule this type of appointment, contact by phone (CAT): Call (+351) 217 206 707

  • Other matters
    1. Access the Portal das Finanças
    2. Navigate to Contactos > Atendimento por Marcação, log in using the credentials (NIF and password or Digital Mobile Key – CMD)
    3. View the list of your scheduled appointments.
    4. Select Ver detalhe and choose:
      1. Desmarcar to cancel, or​
      2. Reagendar to reschedule.

      To cancel, confirm by selecting Sim.
      To reschedule, complete the form, choose a new date and location, and confirm availability.
